Badminton is far more than just a sport in Malaysia — it is part of the national identity. From primary school courts to a packed Axiata Arena roaring with thousands of fans, Malaysians share a deep and personal bond with this racket sport. In today's digital age, many fans add to the excitement of watching their favourite players compete through online sports betting. That is where the name genting888 plays a key role as the preferred badminton betting platform among Malaysian players.
Ever since Lee Chong Wei put Malaysia on the world badminton map for over two decades, the nation's love for the sport has never faded. Now, a new generation is led by Lee Zii Jia, who has proven he can go toe-to-toe with the best players in the world. Zii Jia's intensity on court and his fighting spirit make every match a joy to watch — and equally exciting to bet on at genting888.
Men's doubles is Malaysia's quiet powerhouse. Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik are among the most consistent men's doubles pairs on the BWF World Tour circuit. Their ability to take down the Chinese and Korean pairs that typically dominate the category makes them a popular pick among genting888. Their odds are usually not too low given the strength of their opponents, which means more attractive potential returns for players willing to take the risk.
In the tournament context, the Malaysia Open held annually at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur is the event that draws the most betting activity on the genting888 throughout the year. The atmosphere at the venue is truly electric when Malaysian players compete — the strong fan support gives local athletes an extra boost. From a betting perspective, this is a factor worth considering, as Malaysian players tend to perform better in front of their home crowd.
Beyond the prestigious Super Series events, Genting888 also covers the Thomas Cup, Uber Cup and Sudirman Cup — the three most celebrated team championships in the BWF calendar. The Thomas Cup in particular commands enormous attention in Malaysia, given that we have won it multiple times and our squad remains one of the most feared in the competition. Watching the Malaysian team fight for national pride while having a stake on genting888 only adds to the thrill and excitement.
One of the features that sets apart genting888 over other platforms is the ability to view player statistics and match records directly within the platform while making your betting decisions. Head-to-head records, performance across the last 10 tournaments, win rates on different surfaces — all of this is available to help you make more informed decisions, rather than betting on instinct alone.
For the hardcore Malaysian badminton fan who follows every match closely, In-Play betting — placing live wagers while a match is in progress — on genting888 is a completely different experience. Picture yourself watching Lee Zii Jia in the third set, all square at 18-18 — you can place a bet right at that moment with odds that reflect the live state of play. It takes knowledge and nerve, but for players who truly understand badminton, it's an opportunity like no other.
Getting started with badminton betting on genting888 is straightforward. Opening a new account takes under 2 minutes. From there, head to the "Badminton" section in the Sports Betting menu, select the tournament and match you want, click on the odds you'd like to place, and enter your stake. Winnings are credited directly to your genting888 account automatically once the official result is confirmed.
The promotions programme at genting888 also works in favour of Sports Betting players, including badminton. The weekly Sports Betting rebate of 10% means that even during an unlucky week, you still get 10% of your net losses returned to use on future bets. That's a guaranteed added value that very few other platforms are willing to offer their players.
